1995 Corey Lewis art:



I had two major kidhood properties back in the dizzay-- "Fighting Fruits" which was my ensemble X-Men-style team super-force comic-- and this little idea which was simply super grape dudes. Basically just easy little balls to draw that were badass. I uncovered this character sheet along with a mass over other old sketchbooks, portfolios. I was severely impressed by these little shits, representing purely and simply what my kid mind considered "fun". I spent half the day shirking Sharknife duties to re-interpret these guys in modern-day co-reyyyyyy style:



I spent the first half of my day today re-mastering Stab Kidz (most recent self-published work) for it's 3rd printing for the Emerald City Comic Con (featuring new art and sneak peeks, adjusted cover graphix, etc-- much tighter package overall)-- the 2nd half of my day was spent re-imagining these dudez and trying to draw a whole mini comic story to also provide another self-pubber for ECCC, but will probably have to wait til APE or something.



Really satisfying drawing this simplicity. The above page is exactly what I could remember the original comic being like. I specifically remember it being pretty bleak despite the obvious cuteness of the characters-- the scene is inspired a lot by the anime Plastic Little, if you've seen thatttttt.

Hopefully I'll stick to this and push out a little mini-story about these guyz and put it up for yallz.
