SHARKNIFE PREIVEWINNW


I just drew this page like just now. It's a fight scene that takes place about halfway thru the book... I'm far beyond this scene, now, but I'm just now finishing it up...

Shitty scan... my computer is making dying noises. Maybe after this book comes out and I become a comics millionaire, I can buy a new one.

Kind of a spoiler I guess... Sharknife assumes many new forms in DOUBLE Z. And he fights various weird new things.

Freakin' goin crazy! Double Z crazy. Drawing this... Writing developing stuff for that old idea, Skeleton Kings. I wouldn't be drawing it... But one of my favorite unknown artists ever is interested in drawing it... we'll talk later.

Sweet fucking shit my computer is making REALLY scary noises. Shit man. This is shitty. Oh well, whatever. WHATEVRRRRRRR

edit: another one of those awesome nights where i lay around for six hours thinking about everything and nothing, but never actually sleep. rad.

I'm definitely curious about this "Smokey" character (I'm assuming isn't his real/full name, but regardless) psyched to see some new Sharknife drawings too. Tight shit.

This is looking fierce. Your style in this one looks really rawwwww.

I love how there's at least one sound FX per panel. I hope the entire book is like that. Hah.

It is.

In fact, most panels have at least one or more SFX. Some are crammed with like 5 or 6. Sharknife is a SFX extravaganza.

I like his shoulder details. I like when characters have dark color on the top half of the body and not the bottom. Like Corto Maltese. It makes for a dynamic character especially when printed in black & white.

How you manage to successfully maintain consistent quality and in-your-face excellence that matches the first pages from months/a year ago is way admirable, yet also disturbing... are you a robot? At first glance, I thought this was Marijuana Mode Sharknife - Single Z.

Also, this is the first time, like, ever-- that I notice that the little 'V' on Sharknife's head is actually a Fortune Cookie.
